I have always had Flatcoat retrievers and it is so so hard to ever find a sculpture. I couldn’t believe it when l saw this, so had to have one. When the sculpture arrived I was totally blown away. I searched the internet for an anniversary gift for my husband for our 8th anniversary (I always give him something off the traditional list). I came across Sue’s bronze pigs and it was perfect! My husband and I have an inside joke and he collects pigs so this was a great addition to his collection. I also love that no two pigs are the same! Well as you may have guessed we have taken on another hound. After being her emergency foster home for a while we adopted her on her first birthday! Not a Saluki sadly but has an interesting look!! So when we see there was a sculpture called ‘all ears’ it was an easy choice.

1 have included a photo of the three hounds (along with the trotting dachsund), happily parading along on my mantel under an oil painting of Freckles, the Basset Hound, and me, which was painted based on a photo taken of me 48 years ago when I was 17. I was the puppy trainer, a whipper-in, and finally, the Kennel Huntsman for the Spring Creek Basset Hunt in Barrington Hills, Illinois, USA. Basseting involves following the hounds on foot as they chase (in this part of the US) Cottontail Rabbits. They didn't catch the rabbits -- they just "accounted for them" by tracking them to where they went to ground. Some members of the hunt really loved watching hounds working, while others simply used the meet as a chance to go to the teas held afterwards. For me, the draw was the hounds. I have always loved working with animals in groups to watch how they interact. BTW -- the copper and silver horn next to the candlestick was my hunt horn.
Sue's depictions of the hounds are spot-on (even though they aren't the bassets I worked with).

I am not sure how the young man who took my order over the telephone, managed it, but true to his word, the present was delivered on the morning of her birthday, and amazingly I just happened to be speaking with her on Skype when the FedEx delivery van stopped outside their home.
The timing couldn't have been better if the person I had spoken with had waved a magic wand.

I bought the Sitting Cocker Spaniel II (docked) and Standing Cocker Spaniel for my father's 80th birthday in May. We were keen to get him a really wonderful present for such a big birthday, especially as lockdown meant we couldn't celebrate with him. The dogs were sent directly to him and were beautifully (and securely) packaged. I was even able to watch a short video online beforehand to see how they would be packaged. The galloping horse was a 70th birthday present for my sister-in-law, sent direct to her so we have not seen it in-situ. She told me that they were all intrigued by the beautiful box it arrived in and none of them could work out what the contents were. I just wanted to let you know that my beautiful little bulldog arrived here safely about 15 minutes ago.
He was expected here last Monday, but Covid difficulties held him up. I was able to follow his progress through TNT's parcel tracking, and I also spoke to TNT about the delay.
I really wasn't surprised about the hold up. The little fella had a 4 day stopover in Singapore as space on the few flights coming into Australia is limited. He managed to get from Sydney down to Melbourne through one of the worst nights for weather we've had in recent times, so I was surprised he made it that far, particularly as in Melbourne we're still on really strict lockdown and can't travel further than 5 kms from home.
He lingered at Tullamarine airport for 3 days over the weekend and made it to the distribution centre early this morning and then on to me. Finally he got here about 3.15 pm.
He has been named JB in memory of my mother. Bulldogs have always held a special meaning to our family.

Our greyhound arrived this morning beautifully and securely packaged. The sculpture itself is finely wrought and at home on our mantle piece as if he has always been there. We are more than thrilled with him. I have always loved greyhounds, the lines and elegance of the graceful dog along with the kind nature has always attracted me to them. I received a wonderful surprise birthday present from my wife: a limited edition cast bronze "Fighting Hippopotamus" from Nelson & Forbes in the UK. After a memorable mini safari in Kenya years ago, the hippo became sort of our "totem animal". We have them all over the house...just can't have too many hippos. I'm delighted with my second dachshund,"Forbes", which arrived about 30 minutes ago. My real dachshund has had a sniff and not seemed too bothered to have another one in the house.
The new dachsie is beautifully sculptured and will be admired by many. It fits nicely into my collection of foxes and Labradors. Thankyou for responding so promptly to my purchase, it still amazes me that it only takes 4 days to get here.

This one was the most recent sculpture we have had from you. We have live Dax’s for very many years, but all our former ones were either smooth or long haired, until we got a wire haired one some eight years ago, so we were delighted when we heard from you that a Wire Haired was now in your list, and snapped him up quick; I think ours was number 1, which made him even more collectable; we have several smooth ones from you, but this is our first wire. Our dog is called Norman, and is very big, I think some 35 lbs, and a great friendly character, if a bit noisy at times!
Any way we are delighted to have yours in our collection. I think we have had some twenty dax’s over the years, but have accumulated a huge collection of sculptures, pictures and models . One of our grandchildren spent a day counting the collection, and came up with a figure of over 300 portraits.
We are more than pleased with our latest rough, and he occupies a pole position on one of our shelves.

My wife and I were asked to be Godparents to the 3 year old son of a young couple we know. We considered a number of options for a Christening present. We particularly wanted something he would like now, would be able to treasure for a long time and, as we are elderly, would act as a momento when we are no longer here. I bought this beautiful hare as a birthday present for my mum form myself and my daughters in Jan 2020. My mum loves hares and as my eldest daughter was travelling in New Zealand and we are all quite scattered, we bought the piece so mum knew that wherever we are in the world, if any of us feel sad or lonely, we just need to remember we are all looking at the same moon. It took ages to find the right hare and this little character was so full of movement and expression I really loved him. It was very close to mums birthday so I contacted Nelson and Forbes to check it would arrive in time. They were so helpful and quick to reply. The hare arrived, beautifully packaged. My trotting dachshund was a present from my mum for my birthday on 20th December. Mum’s parents had a dachshund named Jerry, we were inseparable companions during my childhood and mum and I would often recall our times together. Sadly, mum passed away on 27th December, she is much missed but has given me such a loved and treasured reminder. Thank you he is so handsome.

So glad I by chance found Nelson and Forbes. Ordered both version of the dachshound and they are both a really eye catchers! I have installed a small spotlight that lights up the figures. In the warm light they look even more beautiful. As the piece of art they are they deserve to be put in the limelight. I am also extremely pleased with the track service. Just took a few days for the parcel to arrive to me here in Sweden and as soon as they were sent I received a friendly e-mail were I was told that my figures were on their way. When they arrived I was equally surprised how well and protective they packed in a box.

Everyone was absolutely delighted with their sculpture, judging by the appreciative and hugely enthusiastic response on seeing their present. I am going to ask everybody to take a photo of their sculpture in situ – so I can enjoy them too.

This morning l received a letter from you regarding the pouncing fox l ordered from your company along with a sticker in case l wished to send the piece back. I have to say if l myself wished to do so, l believe my son and his partner would offer me a great amount of violence. I sent the piece as l had been told my grandson had been named Fox and thought the thing very appropriate. Upon arrival at their address l received a message that told me why he had been so named. When they first met they sat talking in a park when a young fox appeared which played around a while then suddenly did that pounce. They love the thing and seem to think that all together there has been something more than just coincidence at work. The bronze Panda is a beautiful sculpture. It has great detail and is a good weight as it is a solid not hollow casting. I already have the baby panda and the two really complement each other. I bought the Mother to go with the baby as a birthday present for my wife. I left it a bit late to order as we were going away for my wife's birthday. The service I received to get the sculpture to me before we went away was excellent. Without going the extra mile I wouldn't have received it in time. It was very much appreciated.

I bought the sitting cocker spaniel, docked tail, for my husband’s late August birthday. He loved it, though he had a quizzical look on his face after he opened the package. I am absolutely delighted with my Standing Labrador. A year ago my husband bought me the Sitting Labrador. The 2 of them together are just lovely. We had a Golden Labrador (Casper) for 15 years and had to get him put to sleep 10 years ago. We then rehomed a Brown Labrador (Monty) who was 3 years old when we got him. We had him for 9 years and he also had to be put to sleep in October 2017. These 2 sculptures mean so much to us, we just love them and will cherish them forever

I took the standing horse with the pricked up ears out to Spain - it was a housewarming gift for my brother and sister-in-law. They were absolutely delighted with it - totally overwhelmed in fact. The bronze lying Cheetah sculpture is so lovely. It came to me very quickly, and was boxed in a sturdy container, with heavy foam padding. The Cheetah is solid and weighty. It is very lifelike. I am totally pleased with the lying Cheetah!

A great present for Christmas.
We bought this for a Christmas present for one of our Daughters and her husband; they had mentioned that they liked hares which they see in the fields adjacent to their house.
They absolutely love it; it is nice when you give and the recipients are happy with your choice. We saw it in their house for the first time yesterday and it looks spectacular.
On a personal note, before I bought this I was slightly puzzled that there seemed to be a great price discrepancy between 'bronze' figures. Nelson & Forbes website explained why. I recently bought the Bronze Hedgehog for my Granddaughter who is 7yrs old. She has inherited a real life hedgehog from a school friend who has moved out of the country recently. This was a surprise present from my husband, to me a Golden Retriever owner. I am lucky enough to have owned Golden Retrievers for the last 12 years. Wow! - Sue Maclaurin what you have achieved is amazing. The sculpture has it all. The "goldie" tail, the leg feathers, the bulky chest fur and the regal head. Well done! I wanted a bronze in remembrance of my Lurcher. After many searches for a good specimen, I am really pleased and may decide to get the lying greyhound for my birthday, if I have enough money. Nelson & Forbes were very helpful with my enquiries. Packaging and delivery excellent. I wanted to add a photo of my dog with the statue, but there is no option. I would have preferred it to be slightly larger to go with my other commissioned bronze of my lab x.

Well, I can tell you that the Hare was a complete surprise to the birthday boy and he just couldn’t believe his eyes.
Luckily he thinks it is quite wonderful and says that it must stay in London so that he can see it most of the time.
I have shown photos of it to various friends and family and without exception everyone thinks it is quite splendid and my brother says he wants one for his birthday!

This morning I received the 'seated girl' and 'reading boy'. I LOVE them. In 2015, following the death of my father, I wanted to buy something in his memory. He was always an avid reader and the Jonathan Sanders figures are a perfect reflection of that love of books which my Dad had and passed on to my sister and I. On that occasion I bought 'the seated boy' and 'the girl reading book'. It was the second anniversary of my Dad's death on January 29th so I decided to treat myself to two more. I am delighted with them, in their own right as beautiful pieces of art and also as a lovely reminder of my much-missed Dad. Thank you.

Stress relief or art? - I purchased this gorgeous little Labrador sculpture for my husband for Christmas as a gift from his two rather large chocolate labs. The large labs are a wonderful antidote to a stressful life and the small sculpture is proving to be the same.It's fits beautifully into the palm of his hand and he spends hours holding it whilst on the phone dealing with catastrophes that unfold daily in a large company. It's has already developed some patina and I'm sure it will continue to become more beautiful over the coming years.

As owners of 4 Cockers my partner was over the moon with the Sitting Cocker I bought her for Christmas. We think that you have captured the perfect pose that Cockers take when sitting alert.

I bought this for my wife's ??th birthday because we were taking her to Howletts Zoo @ Port Lympne and a special animal experience with Rhinos. We also got right up close (stroking & feeding) to many more and in the stables one stood up over barrier as we carried on a conversation 2 feet away - brilliant! - Wonderful creatures. We talked each other how do English craftsman carve from solid bronze by their hands! We are deeply happy to receive this artistic bronze. I wanted to put it onto my fireplace... but Japanese houses, we do not have fireplace! So I put it onto our shoes closet.
I am proud of that I am a first purchaser from Japan for you!

A rather belated letter to thank you for the beautiful sculpture of a running cheetah that I received last month. I am absolutely delighted with it and it now takes pride of place on the mantelpiece. Having had the good fortune to see these cats in action in Africa many times, Jonathan Sanders has made it perfectly. The other thing I wanted to mention was how impressed I was by your telephone ordering system. Being fed up with the internet and the time it takes to fill in all the details, think of a password etc., it was a pleasure to talk to someone on the telephone who was courteous and friendly, and to complete my order with the minimum amount of hassle. My only problem now is that the cheetah is tired of chasing nothing, and the warthogs tempt…!
