Printing Your Certificate of Authenticity

To create your Certificate of Authenticity a master engraver had to engrave all the detail into a copper plate by hand.

The plate was then loaded onto a machine that dates from the turn of the century, to be passed over with ink and stamped down onto individual conqueror cards.

When the plate hits the card, it is met underneath by a hand cut block that replicates the printing from above. This helps to give the distinct raise feel of a copperplate print. Each certificate is put into the machine one at a time by hand by Rod, our printer.

He then checks every certificate individually before declaring it passed and sending it to the artist for signing. The artist hand signs every certificate and finally the certificate is numbered to denote that a particular sculpture is a certain number casting of a limited edition. The Certificate of Authenticity is your guarantee that your sculpture is an original foundry casting of a sculpture that has been approved by the artist and is a numbered limited edition.
